The role of TILs

Trust Innovation Leaders (TILs) are employees of local trusts and healthcare organisations who have been trained by NHS Innovations South West and Pera Training have successfully achieved the "Diploma in Innovation and Change Management", which is accredited by The Chartered Management Institute.

The team of TILs hold a number of different roles in their "home" organisations ranging from commissioning to provider services and R&D, and are actively involved in promotion and implementation of good innovation practices, stimulation of innovation culture and support of innovators.

Working with the NISW team, the Trust Innovation Leaders have an increasingly important role to play in developing innovation cultures in organisations and being champions for adoption of innovative ideas and practices. As a growing network of 40 + people, the TILs are ideally positioned to assist with adoption and diffusion of the newest and best technologies and best practices from within and outside of the NHS. They act as catalysts for change and many have built on their training to go on to hold senior roles locally or work for national NHS organisations.
